Since 1994, Changchun ChangSheng Gene Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has stepped from beginning period into development period. In the period, its products increased from 2 kinds and 4 specifications to 5 kinds and 8 specifications, annual production capacity from 5 million to 10 million vials, output value from more than 10 million RMB Yuan to over 160 million RMB Yuan and the market share reached over 15% till the end of 2000. Up to the first half of 2001, it has been successively listed by Jilin Provincial Government into the undertaking enterprises of "Key Ten-Billion Projects of Jilin High & New Technology Industry", "Key projects in Express Train Plan", "Key Projects in Torch Plan" and "Key Projects of Technical Improvement", and one of "Top Ten Technical Innovative Enterprises in Jilin Province". In addition, it lso been listed into the undertaking enterprise of " Key National Torch Plan Projects" and "Innovation Fund Projects of Key Medium and Small High-Tech Enterprises" by Ministry of Science and Technology of CHINA. In Year 2000, it was successively awarded "Enterprise Technical Center" by Changchun Municipal Government and Jilin Provincial Government.

　　   At present, there are two series and five kinds of products under research, including new type of interferon (liquid and tablets, etc.), new preparation form of interferon (Gel), Alka Fiber Growth Factor (bFGF) series of products (Eye Drops, suppository). Among them, Interferon Gel has been approved into clinical trials and great breakthrough has been made in R&D of bFGF series of products and new type of interferon.

　　   It is estimated that it will develop into a biopharmaceutical industry group focusing on over 10 products of three series-interferon, interleukin and bFGF with the annual output value of 300-500 million RMB Yuan and earnings of nearly 100 million RMB Yuan with strong power in R&D of biopharmaceuticals till the end of "The Tenth Five Year". Thus it will step into international stage as a giant in biotech industry and make more contributions to human health.

　　    Mr. Maoxiang WANG, born in 1959, a master and senior engineer, is Chairman of China Maoxiang Group and Standing Vice Chairman and President of Changchun ChangSheng Gene Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. He was also a member of the 8th, 9th and 10th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, standing member of the 7th, 8th and 9th All-China Federation of Trade Union, Vice Director of China Nongovernmental Technology Promotion Association, standing member of Jilin Political Consultative Conference, Vice Director of the 6th, 7th and 8th Jilin Federation of Trade Union, Chairman of Jilin Association of Nongovernmental Enterprises, Vice Chairman of Jilin Entrepreneur Association, Vice Director of Jilin Science Academy, the Fourth Chairman of Tonghua Federation of Trade Union. He was continuously awarded the No. 1 in taxpaying among nongovernmental enterprises for five years from 1997 to 2001.
